For years I worked from the road, bouncing all over Canada and going back and forth between spas and working independently. Ottawa, Kingston, Kitchener, the GTA, a few stops out west in Calgary and Vancouver.
The one thing spas really had going for them was the table. A proper massage table makes for a much better massage than a hotel bed ever will, and that's hard to set up when you're living out of a suitcase. Every spa had something I liked and something I didn't β but the things I didn't like kept being the same things.
Then, after years of bouncing around, I just⦠decided to stop. No big reason. I settled down in Kitchener for the first time in years and started hosting myself, in my own studio, on my own table.
What spas get wrong
- They're not that discreet. In a lot of spas it's really hard to keep clients from running into each other β in the hallway, at the door, in the waiting area. Not exactly relaxing when you're trying to keep things private.
- No shower in the room. Some spas make you walk through the whole place to shower before or after your session. Oily, in a towel, past the front desk. Nobody wants that.
- The house takes a huge cut. Spas keep a big percentage of every session, which means the girl you're seeing is working more sessions in a day to make it worth it. You can feel that.
What's different with me
- One girl, every time. No front desk, no rotation, no "she's busy, how about her". You book me, you get me.
- Private. It's my studio and my schedule, so clients don't overlap. You come in, you leave, nobody sees you but me.
- A shower that's actually yours. A private bathroom to rinse off before, and to clean up after. Warm towels included.
- No rushing. I'm not trying to squeeze in a dozen sessions to cover a house fee, so I take my time with yours.
- A real table, not a hotel bed. The best part of the spas, minus everything else. Hot oil, the lighting how I like it, set up for a proper massage first β and everything that comes after.
Do I still travel?
Yes β I still do tour dates and the odd trip out west, and I still drop into the occasional spa when I'm on the road. But Kitchener is home base now, and this is the first time in years I've had a space that's completely mine. If you've only ever done the spa thing, here's how a session with me goes β I think you'll notice the difference.
Questions
- Is it better to see an independent provider or go to a spa?
- Independent providers like Blazed Brat offer more privacy β no other clients in the hallway, a private shower, and the same person every time β while spas are often busier and rotate staff.
- Does Blazed Brat work at a spa?
- She hosts independently from her own private studio in Kitchener, and still tours other cities on posted dates.
- Is there a shower at Blazed Brat's studio?
- Yes β a private bathroom to rinse off before and after the session, with fresh towels.
π BlazedBrat β Bratty. Blazed. Always trouble. Always daring you to tame her.
